Free Paper Trading Program

The term 'paper trading' has been thrown around the industry for years now. It was originally designed as a way to let a trader take a dry run of a trading system by logging trades on paper, rather than risking money. This allows beginning traders to gain the confidence they need to see that they can make money in the market before they dive in. It also allows a seasoned trader to try out a new system to see if it is worth the risk.

Over the years, however, with the popularity of commodity trading courses and a lot of hype by various brokerages, the term paper trading has been over-used, and the original intension of the process has been lost. Most brokerages claim that they have a paper trading program, but all it consists of is a few informational brochures and a promise that the client will learn how to trade.
